At first..you don't want to believe it, but then the hard reality sets in and what can you do?
You couldn't help but fall in love with his art. And though I didn't know him as others did, but the 2 brief moments talking to him made me realize that not only was his art special, but so was he. As a person there was no other like him, and to be honest, there will never, ever be another like him. I still don't quite know what to say.
My condolences go out to his family, including the whole Aspen crew because that's what they are..is a family.
No one will ever forget what you gave us, Mike. You're inspiration will live on in all of us.

This is truly sad news. I really looked up to Michael. He is one of the main reasons I appreciate art as much as I do. From the first time I laid eyes on the cover to Fathom 0. I had never seen anything so beautiful. It had been a dream to meet the man who drew it. Standing in line for an hour it was worth it. He was always so great. He'd listen to the nerdy stories you would tell. In my eyes he was the most famous person ever and just to see him sitting at the booth was enough to make any fan go crazy.
He's always had the best fans too. Standing in line with them we always talk about how great he is. They're all so loyal. And i've made new friends thanks to Michael.
I know none of us were ready to lose him. But I will always remember him and be so thankful for everything he's done for us.
You gave us Fathom, Michael. Little Aspen Matthews. I doubt I could find 1 person at a convention that doesn't know the name Aspen. You gave us so many talented and great Artists, Writers, Colorists, Letterers, and even an Aspen MLT. Vice President.
You will never be forgotten Michael Turner. I promise this.

This is too much to comprehend. I read the words but they don't sink in. They're just there on the screen - not making any sense.
I really thought Michael would beat this. I WANTED him to beat this. It's a real shocker.
My thoughts and sympathies go out to all of his family and to you guys at Aspen, of course.
Michael, you were a great fighter and an inspiration to me - to all of us - but above all you were probably one of the nicest guys I ever met, if only for a few minutes. Always smiling and humble to your fans.
Thank you for the wonderful art and the incredible stories you brought to us - they will be enjoyed for years to come. You were taken much too soon, but you will always be remembered.
You are already missed.
Rest in Peace,
Simon

This news really saddens me. At least even with his passing the impact he made in the lives of those around him and those who were inspired by his art will hold his memory. As all people leave an impact on the world artists of all mediums bring forth a great gift from their peers and everyone around them, inspiration and wonder. Qualities that will not be lost even upon his passing. Despite all that he was battling and dealing with he still stepped forward and touched and lived his dream and should the rest of us how to as well. He may no longer be with us physically but his inspiration, his art, his memory, will be carried by all those he met. That perhaps is is greatest work which through even a life time of endeavoring is never done. May you have the peace from the suffering you endured here and take the solace that you have lit the way and imaginations of countless others through your zeal of life. Thank you Michael for inspiring me.
Andy
