Hey folks. Those of you who I met up with with at Comic-Con might've seen these already. The feedback I got was positive and it's the technical nuances that I really need to work on now. Proper consistent use of line weights and to look further into shadows and lighting. Haha, way to make my first experience of SDCC a job fair! But I walked away with a few scripts to work with for further try outs so that was good. Thanks to all the professionals who looked my stuff over and offered their advise, in the case of this publisher; Vince Hernandez.

stuff looks good johnni!

got some nice tight lines going on. are these all in pencils or did u ink as well? i also liked the details on the background - i find a lot of the other art ive seen lately have been lacking the drawn in backgrounds. i am guilty of that as well lol.

as i mentioned to you before - let me take a crack on the pages for colours - send me a pm?

Glad you like them Ariel. No I only worked in pencil on these. Yeah go ahead and colour them up, but the largest files I have saved are 11.5 x 8"

wip of page 1 - thought id step back and get some feedbacks
i need to add a bit more depth on some of the buildings

panel 3 - background will need to be darken more but have some highlights off windows perhaps?

the last 2 panels feels a bit black i may add blurred out bg for shapes and contrast - thought? suggestions?

i am approaching this in a bit more of the digital painting side rather than conventional flats - dodge/burn etc - hopefully itll come out the way i envisioned it

CnC are appreciated and welcomed!

JOhnni nice, I always hear SDCC is one of the hardest cons to actually get pro's to look at your stuff. Linework looks pretty good, I agree try experimenting a little more with shadows and it will just bump your pencils up even more. Giving redhood actual ears in his mask though...kinda strange heh.

Gem, noticed this on that magento one I commented on earlier too, You might not want to go quite so dark on some of your shadings. It turns it black and completely covers details from the original lineart. When you do that you lose some really nice stuff there. Unless the penciller asked for it, then I guess that's a different story, but I think it's best not to remove too much of what they took so much effort in drawing and rather add to it with the colors. Of course this one is just a wip so you might have other plans entirely for the finished product.
