I need to re read it, I read it kind of fast cause I have class soon but it was still interesting. The last page is pretty cool, and Micah and Beth both did an AWESOME job on this one.

Overall I liked the issue.
I wonder how Grace recovers from what happens on the cover.
I cant wait to see issue 6-11 of the original series and of course Chaos Reign.

this was a great issue... it was sad to see that TANIA ( i think that's her name) died at the end... and ya, i also wanna know how she recovers her wings..

Very deep and depressing but very well done. Grace kicks some serious a$$ though which I liked. I couldn't belive what Mooncrest did and turned on her, I know that it would be hard to see or experience one you care or love turn on you violently. I could relate very strongly to Grace in that sense. I wish I could be there with Grace at the end when her wings are cracking away. The end was very well done but hard for me to see that happen to her. This issue pulled me in big time. Again with the dragon turning on Grace, a friend, I can relate personally to a high extent.

Oh well made my own little topic, sorry, didnt see this one.
Wow Im surprised no one else has created this topic yet. Just went to my comic book store and picked up my copy rushing home to read it. And Im speachless after reading it. The last page was one of the best from the series I think Micah. I loved this issue. The writing was increadable, I loved how it wrapped up at the end showing all the characters and how each delt with the dying of magic. And the battle scenes were awsome. But like I said, those last 2 pages with Grace were by far my favorite from DOTL. Good job everyone involved!!!

So how exactly does it work? Okay the age of magic died so does that mean that if you leave the aspect of magic behind you could've lived? What I'm asking is that in the case of the Rahtumi, Grace lost her wings so that allowed her to live. I'm guessing that since dragons didn't make it cuz their entire being was suppose to be magic based.
But how did Grace, Onyx and Rainier to live for so long? Maybe I just need to reread the entire series again and it'll clear up a bit.
But questions aside I had a good time reading the book.
The last page was gorgeous. I wonder how painful it was suppose to be when their wings came off. Physically that is. The emotional and mental challenge would've been crazy like telling someone that they'd never walk again.

Those are some good questions, I was wondering that too. Maybe Grace will answer that in the regular Soulfire series.

I was very impressed with this issue. I've been somewhat critical of Micah's work up until now, but I believe he did a fantastic job on #5.  The dragons were awesome and like others have said that last page of Grace losing her wings really conveyed the tragedy of loss.
I still think that DOTL felt a little rushed as I would have liked to see it go for 7 or 8 issues. So why is there a cycle of magic & tech anyway? And, what really are Rainier's motivations for gaining power? I was hoping that DOTL would have explored this a bit more in order to give more insight into the regular series.
Anyway, all in all it was a great issue!
