Once again Marcus did an excellent job on the artwork. Even if the story had sucked I would have still enjoyed the issue. And David's colors rocked as well. The whole crew did a fantastic job in fact! Having said that, however, the series WAS TOO SHORT! Imho the story was good, but just felt a little rushed.
I didn't think about it that way, but that's an interesting idea B. What was it though that Khaaz said about cycles? Speaking of which, if Khaaz's death caused magic to fade, what is causing it to come back? Maybe the answers will be revealed in the final issues of Soulfire.
Besides the whole knife in the chest thing, I also didn't understand why Sagus and the rest turned on Khaaz. The only thing I could figure is that Sagus hated Khaaz just as much as Miya, but it wasn't until he saw the "magic" knife that he saw an opening to get rid of Khaaz.
Anyway, I have one request--please bring back Miya!!!

I loved this issue, maybe my favorite full issue of anything. I'll have to pick up a copy.

Well, I just finished this issue and loved it. Marcus To is amazing and I'm so happy that he did this mini and will be doing some more fathom, that totally rocks. As for sagus turning on Khaaz, I think that his people were just as must slaves as everyone else, sure they didn't have to work, but they still weren't free. The whole stabbing thing though was a bit wierd though. Also, is it just me or does Khaaz look a lot like Rainier??? A brother perhaps? The same person?? In the end I got the impression that that Khaaz was just acting evil so that no one would try to kill him: He yells "no wait!!" hmmmmm?

I doubt there is any conection between Khaaz and Rainer. And I hope there isn't.

Because if everything was so connected it wouldn't be fun. I kinda like that Chaos Reign is like it's own story. Besides I think Khazz was like the embodyment of magic and when he was killed that's what started the end of magic that led to the series "Dying of the Light."
Also Rainer was more like the half Dragon creatures, as he had wings connected to his arms. Before his limbs were cut off anyways. I don't think it's possible for them to be brothers, or related.

I agree with Barak, I hope they're not related in any way. It be very cheesy to have every character from all different time lines in the Soulfire world to be connected like brother/sister. Let it be its own story.

I didn't like this series much at all. Some cool art at places and a cool new character Khaaz and a dynamic of another race of beings. "the nightstalkers". Outside of that this series came off as filler throughout story wise to me. meh.
In the main Soulfire series the magic will fade if malikai dies right? If so is khaaz a hint to what malikai can become? Since "the magic" fades if he dies aswell?
